Finding the right health
profession
As part of your search for a
health profession, be sure to:
1. Look up information
on the fields in the library, your counselors office
and the internet.

2. Visit medical facilities,
talk to the people actually in the fields. See first hand what they like and dislike about
that field.
Find out what employers want. |
3. Contact colleges
that offer "your" field, then go see the faculty.
Talk to graduates of the program.
Ask the right questions. |
4. Find out what the
pre-requisites
and other conditions are for entering
a health program and a health career.

5. Be ready to change your mind.
If you discover that a health profession is not for you,
do the best thing possible for the patient,
find another field. Do not gamble with your future.
